Postgraduate Anatomy and Surgical Specialization

The Department of Anatomy is a leader in advanced anatomical education in Tanzania, offering training that bridges the gap between basic sciences and advanced clinical practice.

1. Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Human Anatomy

This is a 2-year academic program designed for graduates in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or anatomical sciences who wish to pursue careers in academic teaching and biomedical research. The course involves coursework, advanced dissection, teaching practice, and a research dissertation.

2. Surgical Residency Training (M.Med)

We provide advanced applied anatomy modules for surgical residents at Bugando Medical Centre. These modules focus on surgical exposures, landmark-based navigation, and micro-surgical anatomy in the following fields:

• Master of Medicine in General Surgery
• Master of Medicine in Orthopedics and Traumatology
• Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Master of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
