The Histology and Histopathology Laboratory in the Department of Anatomy is a state-of-the-art facility serving both academic and research needs at CUHAS and Bugando Medical Centre.

- Tissue Processing & Embedding: Custom paraffin wax embedding for biological research specimens and biopsies.
- Microtomy (Sectioning): High-precision sectioning from 3 to 10 microns using advanced rotary microtomes.
- Routine & Special Staining:
- Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining for general architecture.
- Masson's Trichrome for connective tissue.
- Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS) for glycogen and basement membranes.
- Giemsa and Silver stains for specialized studies.
- Digital Microscopy & Imaging: High-resolution digital imaging services for publications and presentations.
