ABOUT Directorate of Planning, Business Development and Investment (DPBDI)
The Directorate of Planning, Business Development and Investment was established to guide
and oversee all university activities related to planning, business development and investment.
The Directorate is responsible for developing, evaluating and monitoring the implementation
of the University Rolling Strategic Plan. The progress of the Rolling Strategic Plan is evaluated
bi-annually and shared among stakeholders.
In coordinating income generation activities, the Directorate operationalizes consultancy
initiatives and supports departments, schools, institutes and directorates to implement
sustainable income generation plans.

Dr. Elias Charles Nyanza is an Associate Professor and Population and Public Health Specialist working in Northwestern Tanzania at the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences. Dr. Nyanza’s work focuses on reducing inequality and improving access to Health, safe and clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) among marginalized populations through research and community-based Innovations such as mHealth interventions with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technologies. |

Functions of DPBDI
1. Develop and review expansion targets.
2. Coordinate planning and utilization of resources.
3. Develop and monitor Rolling Strategic Plans.
4. Oversee development projects.
5. Advise management on rents and fees.
6. Market university facilities.
7. Serve as secretariat to planning and finance committees.
8. Custodian of university policies.
9. Manage university statistics.
10. Prepare annual budgets.
