I am pleased to welcome you to the Weill Bugando School of Medicine. This website gives highlights on the activities of our school and lets you see the ways in which our values impact how we teach students and care for patients. Our school is a cornerstone of excellence in medical education, research, and clinical care in Tanzania. The school, nestled in the heart of our vibrant community, is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of medical knowledge and preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders. Since our establishment back in 2003, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to not only imparting high quality medical education but also inculcating in our students the values of compassion, ethical practice, and a commitment to serving the underserved. Both of our programs (Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy, Master of Medicine and PhD), are the most pivotal upon which hinges the mission of the school in its quest to enable Tanzania produce enough health professionals to achieve satisfactory level of “Health for All” in the foreseeable future. Our curricula are rigorously designed to blend scientific inquiry with clinical expertise, ensuring our graduates emerge as well-rounded professionals ready to tackle the complex health challenges of today and tomorrow, within and outside the country. Our school comprises distinguished scholars and clinicians who are leaders in their respective fields.
